AAC Support for Families

We provide personalised, low-tech AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) resources designed to support children’s communication, understanding, and daily routines. Through collaborative discussions with families, we identify what’s needed and create practical, symbol-based tools that are easy to use at home, school, and in the community. Our focus is on supplying clear, effective visual supports that promote independence, reduce frustration, and help children take part more confidently in everyday life.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent & Family Support (Low-Tech AAC Resources)

We work closely with families to identify what would make daily life easier—then create practical, low-tech AAC and symbol-based resources tailored to those needs. Through discussion, we explore where communication or routines feel challenging and provide clear, usable tools to support your child at home.

Services include:

  • One-to-one consultations to understand your child’s needs and priorities

  • Creation of personalised low-tech AAC resources (e.g. symbol cards, routines, choice boards)

  • Resources to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and transitions

  • Visual supports to help establish consistent routines and boundaries

  • Ongoing review and adaptation of resources as needs change

💬 Communication & AAC Resource Provision

We focus on developing the right low-tech AAC resources for each child, based on how they communicate and what support they need across their day. All resources are created through discussion and tailored to be practical, consistent, and easy to use.

Services include:

  • Personalised symbol-based communication boards and books

  • Choice boards, now/next boards, and key vocabulary supports

  • Adaptation and updating of AAC resources over time

  • Resources designed for use across home, school, and community settings

🧩 Resources & Learning Support (Symbolised Materials)

We design and supply symbol-supported resources that help children understand, participate, and become more independent in everyday activities. Each resource is developed based on individual needs identified through discussion.

Services include:

  • Personalised resource packs with symbol support

  • Visual schedules and daily routine materials

  • Step-by-step visual guides for tasks and activities

  • Printable learning and communication resources

  • Adapted low-tech AAC materials to support understanding and engagement

🌙 Sleep & Routine Support (Visual Resource-Based)

We provide tailored, symbol-supported resources to help create calmer routines and more predictable transitions, particularly around sleep and daily structure. These are developed in collaboration with families to ensure they are realistic and effective.

Services include:

  • Personalised visual sleep plans and bedtime routines

  • Symbol-supported timetables for evenings and daily routines

  • Resources to support transitions and reduce anxiety

  • Ongoing updates to resources as routines develop
